Fire extinguisher wins design award

Ergonomics and quick-release mechanism recognised by the Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Awards programme.

Chubb Fire & Security has won a 2014 Good Design Award for its Chubb FX stored pressure fire extinguisher range.

The range features an innovative quick release mechanism and an ergonomically redesigned handle, lever and hose grip. Launched in late 2012, it was designed in consultation with DCA Design International, one of the world’s leading product design and development consultancies.

Founded in 1950, the Chicago Athenaeum Good Design Awards programme is one of the oldest and most prestigious for design excellence worldwide. Following entries from several thousand manufacturers, the Chubb FX range was selected for the design excellence award in the Protective Equipment category.

This award acknowledges our goal to develop effective fire extinguishers that are more intuitive to use.”
